Roe deer grazing
Roe deer grazing

I put up a trail camera this week to find out who visits the chamomile field at this time of year. You can view all the results so far on our Gallery page. The usual suspects have been caught on camera. Unsurprisingly the family of Roe deer we often see throughout the day, a fox in the early hours before dawn and one I was surprised to capture is the buzzard.  There are two lovely shots, one swooping past the camera and the second on the ground about to grab some prey – probably an unwary vole or shrew.

When I retrieved the camera there was quite a lot of bird poo on the post it was attached to so I’ve mounted the camera on another post to try and capture the perpetrator! I suspect something robin-sized from the evidence.  Watch this space!
